Why do we age….? Is it impossible to evaluate one’s beauty without investing in the care of what's inside the body? How does your lifestyle affect your health? In what way does it alter your physical characteristics?

The 4 Killers

  • Inflammation
  • Glycation – conscious & unconscious sugar intake.
  • Oxidation – stress – high homocysteine, excess oestrogen
  • Methylation

We are living longer, but not necessarily better lives!

Resculpt Package Revamped

Methylation

Influences which genes are activated and which are not. Is the biochemical process essential to maintain the functionality of cells? Vitamins, hormones, neurotransmitters and antibodies work only if methylation occurs correctly. Another crucial role of methylation is to reduce high blood levels of homocysteine, a toxic compound produced during cell metabolism. Unfortunately, as we age, methylation becomes less effective.

The result is an increase in the opportunity for poor cellular function and disease.

We need certain vitamins and minerals to regulate methylation. If a person diet lacks these vitamins and minerals there is not enough methyl groups to make methyl happen. This leads to disease and poor health and the increase in blood levels of homocysteine.

Aside from an unhealthy diet, not getting daily exercise may also contribute to poor methylation. Faulty methylation leads to high levels of homo-cysteine. Elevated levels are a risk indicator of health issues, including cardiovascular disease.

Sustain the process of methylation through healthy eating and exercise is vital for health and longevity.

Glycation

Sneak attack of sugars. When you eat sugars or refined carbohydrates, the body turns them into glucose. High levels of blood glucose in turn created sugar-coated proteins, which go onto form Advanced Glycation (AGE’s). These AGE’s leads to stiffening of protein fibres (skin, hair, nails, organs) e.g. collagen and elastin fibres, formation of wrinkles and reduced capacity of healing.

Reason why we don’t see harm when we younger, our youthful bodies have more defences to block the damage plus we still produce collagen. At 30 you have decades of harmful AGE’s UV rays and air pollution. This is the time many people start to see changes in ageing skin.

Damage from glycation isn’t limited to skin. It compromises the function of bones, tendons, cartilages, teeth, muscle and cardiovascular system. Research has also shown that chronic levels of high blood glucose could increase your chances for developing diabetes and heart disease, in other words a decrease in longevity.

Even though we can’t eliminate sugar completely in our diets – we need glucose to live. It’s an essential fuel for our cells. Making better lifestyle choices can help.

Now that researches know that glycation is a primary cause of skin ageing, anti-ageing creams and supplements are formulated that fights AGE’s and aim to stimulate the fibroblast to build new collagen.

Oxidation

Every minute every day the cells in our body have huge quantities of molecules called free radicals. Free radicals are unstable molecules that contain certain electrons. Electron prefer to be paired with another electron in order to have a balanced electrical charge. This is called oxidative stress. It’s a natural process like breathing. But our bodies do an excellent job of keeping free radicals in check. It happens with antioxidants we need in our diet.

Over time our body ability to control oxidative stress becomes slightly less efficient. In addition to this natural oxidative stress, our habits and activities can contribute to even more oxidative stress. Smoking, UV sunlight and environmental toxins also leads to production of free radicals in the body.

So how does it impact our health and appearance? When free radicals attack our skin, they speed up formation of wrinkles and other imperfections. But there is also damage we don’t see. Like macro and microscopic structures of the human body.

When FR cause damage to lipids of cellular membranes the f=defensive barrier is harmed. Such oxidation infuses inflammation and causes early onset ageing. FR also oxidase DNA and RNA – essentially what constitute our genetic makeup during oxidation, structural (HA and collagen) and regulatory proteins are oxidase, causing structural and functional damage to our bodies – including our skin.

Inflammation

Inflammation is one of the body’s most important defences against trauma and infection. Think of it as your own SUPERHERO protecting you against invading viruses and bacteria.

It comes to rescue when we fall and scrape a knee or break a leg. Without inflammation bruises and wounds wouldn’t heal. Inflammation response directs more blood flow to the area of injury; this includes white blood cells, which fight off infection. Doctors refer to this as acute inflammation.

But just like many comic book superheroes, inflammation can have a dark side. That’s when beneficial acute inflammation becomes chronic inflammation. It can fight against perfectly healthy cells and cause disease. When this happens, inflammation becomes a negative force with regard to health.

Ageing is characterised by a chronic state of slight inflammation tied to both genetics and individual development of immune system responses. In the long run, this inflammatory process may compromise organs and reduce longevity by increasing to certain risk factors.

This fact makes inflammation a silent threat that grows stronger day by day. One of the main ways to combat chronic inflammation is through healthy lifestyle habits; focus your efforts on relaxing your mind, getting regular exercise and eating foods that contain anti-inflammatory com-pounds (like veggies and nuts) and nutraceuticals. THINK of these habits as your very own team of superheroes to help to be as healthy as you can be…

This makes you think…

130 years ago, women reached age 39 on average, and men age 43.

Now – double as old – genetically 100 years of age = 75-100yr olds – not a pretty picture, we are getting older due to better hygiene, sanitation, immunisation, modern western medicine, no wars (but we aren’t ready for old age – disease ridden)

BUT limited in mobility, challenged in mental faculties, bad/sad physical appearance etc

1945: no synthetic chemicals, now there are over 100 000.

8 – 10 x more stress

We sleep on average 2 hrs a night less

Inflammation and DNA damage associated with massive amounts of toxins – human body cannot cope with – resulting in increased levels of free radicals and inflammatory damage. PLUS, modern life with multitude stressors, little sleep, less exercise and poor toxic diets = POOR AGEING instead of HEALTHY ageing.

We need a focus shift from REACTIVE to PRO-ACTIVE

Main reason for pre-mature and accelerated ageing/ degenerative disorders = DNA damage and inflammation

We are stuck in an illness model, instead of a healthy model.

Millennials are thinking pro-actively – at age 28 already thinking of old age

Life span is there… where is HEALTH SPAN?

NAD + complex = answer to healthy ageing process

Easiest way to understand what the skin needs: embryo (cluster of cells) 1st 2 layers: an outer ectoderm and an inner endoderm. The ectodermal cells forms the entire nervous system, including your brain, spinal cord and peripheral nerves, outer skin and glands, hair, nails and linings of mouth and anal canal. Endodermal cells become the outer linings of digestive tract, respiratory tract, urinary bladder and urethra. The 3rd layer forms later, called the mesoderm forms all interior tissues like muscle, bone, blood, lymph and lining of body cavities.

Very close relationship between skin and brain from the beginning – therefore feed them the same!

3 complexes: All pH encapsulated – absorbed in different parts of digestive system for optimal result.

Interesting Information on Liver as well as Q&A

With my initial introduction in Rome 2012 on glycation at a medical conference introduced by the head physician of NASA, it was explained how the correct supplementation is important for a better foundation for a healthier outcome/result on skin, hair and nails and overall healthier body.

The main things why we age is and discussed at this conference was:

  • Glycation
  • Methylation
  • Oxidative stress
  • Inflammation
  • DNA damage – NAD restores DNA damage
  • Liver

A Vehicle that never goes for a service, smells terrible, becomes slower because the filter never gets replaced with a new filter. We need to cleanse our filter…our liver!

Liver Detox

Did you know that detoxing your liver is the fastest way to rid your body of toxins? Holistic Healing has a unique procedure in doing this.

Get ready to experience glowing skin and a flatter tummy!

Did you know that Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) is one of the most common causes of liver disease worldwide? NAFLD can progress to Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH) and cirrhosis which can lead to liver cancers and the need of organ transplant. Our liver helps detoxify our blood, produces critical proteins/hormones, and helps with digestion. 7

The primary risk factor of NAFLD and NASH is obesity. Luckily, research has shown that weightless and especially bariatric surgery can lead to significant improvements in liver health as well as reversal of these diseases. Just like all other disease it is important to treat obesity and liver disease as early as possible.

Your Liver is Your Fat Burning Organ!

Most people don’t think of the liver in terms of weight loss, but the liver is responsible for helping metabolize fat.

It produces bile, which break down fat while also working like a filter to clean toxins out of our blood, helping us feel energises. Optimizing your liver health can help you lose weight and hit your health goals much quicker.

Most people struggle with overburden livers duo to a toxic diet and lifestyle.

This means their bodies are ineffective at digestion and fat breakdown, resulting in weight gain, feeling heavy, bloated and sluggish.

Detox Symptoms during Liver Detox or a Fast

Rash; Eczema; Acne; Weakness; Nausea; Dizziness; Hot Flashes; Fatigue; Bronchitis; Asthma; Headaches; Faintness; Fever; Diarrhoea;

Muscle aches; Bad breath; Stuffed nose; Running Nose; Irregular heartbeat; Irregular menstruation

Which is the function of the liver?

The liver also detoxifies chemicals and metabolizes drugs. As it does so, the liver secretes bile that ends up back in the intestines. The liver also makes proteins important for blood clotting and other functions.

Which hormones are produced by the liver?

The liver synthesizes and secretes at least four important hormones: Insulin-like Growth Factor-1 (IGF-1) Angiotensinogen. Thrombopoietin.

Liver

Importance of liver cleanse. With the combo of NAD with phase 1& phase 2 liver detox you have a more effective cellular liver detox.

You need to treat your body like your Ferrari.

What is a Telomere?

Telomere (tel-uh-meer) for Greek telos (end) and meros (part)

Telomeres are an essential part of the human cells that affect how our cells age. Inside the nucleus of a cell, our genes are arranged along twisted, double stranded molecules of DNA called chromosomes. At the end of the chromosomes are stretches of DNA called telomeres, which protect our genetic data, make it possible for cells to divide, and hold some secrets on how we age and get cancer.

Telomeres are the caps at the end of the DNA that protect our chromosomes, lie the plastic tips at the end of the shoelaces.

Without the coating the shoelaces become frayed until they no longer do their job, just as without telomeres, DNA strands become damaged and our cells can’t do their job.

DNA makes up all our cells in our body. It is the genetic material that makes us who we are. And every organ (skin, heart, liver, colon, kidneys, etc) is made up of cells. So, telomeres are vital to our health.

Our cells replenish by copying themselves. This happens constantly throughout our lives. Telomeres get shorter each time a cell copies itself.

Some Factors of Ageing

Telomere Shortening – chromosomes lose telomeres over time.

Chronological age – risk factors increase over time.

Oxidative Stress – oxidants damage DNA, proteins and lipids.

Glycation – glucose sugar binds to and inhibits DNA proteins and lipids.

What is glycation?

The bonding of a sugar molecule to a protein or lipid molecule without enzymatic regulation.

How does glycation cause aging?

This forms advanced glycation end products (commonly shortened, appropriately, to AGEs), which cause protein fibres to become stiff and mal-formed. ... The proteins in skin most prone to glycation are the same ones that make a youthful complexion so plump and springy—collagen and elastin. Jan 31, 2012

https://www.elle.com/beauty/makeup-skin-care/tips/a2471/sugar-aging-how-to-fight-glycation-614621

How does glycation affect the skin?

Worse—when we're exposed to UV rays, it accelerates glycation, further aging the skin. Scientists exposed glycated skin cells to UV rays, and found that the formation of AGEs increased. ... They added that AGEs “modify skin collagen by reducing skin elasticity, and one result is wrinkle formation.” Nov 24, 2017

Why is glycation bad?

Glycation, which occurs when insulin doesn't metabolize sugars properly, destroys the collagen in blood vessels (collagen is a structural protein found all over the body, not just in the skin) and ultimately causes it to become brittle and form plaque.

Is glycation reversible?

This reaction can take from a few minutes to several hours, but it is completely reversible if the blood sugar is reduced to normal levels.
